Amazon India said it has expanded its full-basket grocery service, Amazon Fresh, to over 130 cities, including Ambala, Aurangabad, Hoshiarpur, Dharwad, Una, and Suri.

The service includes a wide range of wet and dry groceries, such as fruits, vegetables, chilled products, beauty, baby, personal care, and pet products.

The service offers customers a simplified shopping experience through its dedicated app-in-app on Amazon.in, featuring personalised widgets, a buy-again option, and reminders to ensure that frequently shopped items are not forgotten during checkout.

Amazon Fresh India director Srikant Sree Ram said Amazon Fresh is reshaping grocery shopping in India.

According to the platform, Amazon Fresh Sellers source fruits and vegetables from over 11,000 farmers and ensure the quality of the produce through a ‘4-step quality check’. Customers in over 130 cities will also avail exciting deals from Amazon Fresh sellers and bank partners while building their weekly/monthly baskets.

“We bring fresh produce and daily essentials right to the doorsteps of our customers across 130 cities in India. Our expansion and focus on quality products demonstrate our commitment to serving customers and offering them the best online shopping experience for fresh produce and daily essentials. Further, customers can benefit from cashback, offers, and bank discounts, adding value to their every purchase,” Srikant Sree Ram, Director, Amazon Fresh, said in a statement.

As per Amazon India, Amazon Fresh offers a simplified shopping experience. It has a dedicated app-in-app for groceries on Amazon’s website and convenient features like personalised widgets, a buy-again option, and reminders to ensure that frequently shopped items aren’t forgotten during checkout.

Features like personalized widgets, a buy-again option, saved preferences, and more help customers shop on Amazon Fresh easily and conveniently. The e-commerce platform said that on Super Value days from the 1st to the 7th of every month, customers can build their monthly basket at a value.

The rapid expansion comes amid increasing competition in the sector, with Amazon competing against players like Flipkart, Reliance’s JioMart, Tata Digital-owned BigBasket, and quick-commerce platforms such as Swiggy Instamart, Zepto, and Zomato-owned Blinkit.
