Milkfed Punjab launched an ultra-modern Verka vending machine at Punjab Civil Secretariat in Chandigarh to expand consumer outreach, modernise dairy retail services and strengthen the cooperative sector.

May 2026: In a move aimed at strengthening Punjab’s cooperative sector and expanding consumer outreach, Milkfed Punjab recetnly inaugurated an ultra-modern vending machine dispensing Verka products at Punjab Civil Secretariat-1 in Chandigarh.

The state-of-the-art machine was inaugurated by Punjab Chief Secretary KAP Sinha in line with the vision of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to modernise cooperative services and improve public access to dairy products.

Equipped with advanced dispensing technology, the vending machine offers tetra-pack flavoured milk beverages, lassi, fruit juices, mineral water and ice creams in a convenient and consumer-friendly format. Officials said the initiative is expected to further strengthen the market presence of Milkfed’s flagship brands, including Verka, Sohna and Five Rivers.

On the occasion, Milkfed also introduced “Guddi”, the female companion to Verka’s popular mascot “Veera”. Officials described the launch as a symbolic step towards promoting gender inclusivity and balanced brand representation.

Speaking at the event, Rahul Gupta, Managing Director Milkfed Punjab, said Milkfed Punjab is projected to achieve an estimated turnover of nearly Rs 7,250 crore during the 2025-26 financial year, registering a growth of around 13 per cent over the previous year’s turnover of Rs 6,395 crore.

Milkfed Punjab, owner of the iconic Verka brand, is among India’s largest cooperative dairy organisations and continues to work towards improving the economic condition of dairy farmers while supplying quality milk and dairy products across the country.

Addressing the gathering, Ajit Balaji Joshi, Secretary Cooperation-cum-Chairman Milkfed Punjab, announced that more such vending machines, including ice cream vending units, would soon be installed at Punjab Civil Secretariat-2, the Punjab and Haryana High Court, airports, district administrative complexes, colleges, malls and other high-footfall public locations.

Girish Dayalan, the Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Punjab, reiterated the Punjab government’s commitment to strengthening the cooperative movement by ensuring remunerative prices to dairy farmers and making quality dairy products available to consumers at affordable rates.

The occasion, senior officials including Secretary, General Administration Department K.K. Yadav, Director Information and Public Relations Department Dr. Akshita Gupta and Deputy Secretary General Administration Department Deepankar Garg, were also present.
